Interview preparation isn't just about practising your answers.

You do need to be ready to answer potential questions, but an interview is a two-way street.

You're not just trying to convince the school that you're the right person for the role; you're also working out whether the school is the right fit for you.

Before your interview, take some time to research:

The school's values and ethos - Do they align with your own approach to education?

The curriculum - What do they teach and how do they approach teaching and learning?

The school's latest Ofsted report - What are its strengths and areas for improvement?

Recent news and updates - Have they introduced any new initiatives, celebrated achievements or made changes recently?

The role itself - Think about what you're looking for and whether the responsibilities, expectations and opportunities match your career goals.

And don't forget to prepare a few questions of your own. It shows you've done your research and gives you the chance to find out what it's really like to work there.

The best interviews aren't just the ones where you get the job... They're the ones where you find out if it's the right fit for both you and the school.

Good luck to anyone preparing for an upcoming interview!
